Rotary shear included in cut-to-length line
A large cut-to-length line with a rotary shear allows for cutting different forms, from rectangles to trapeziums, curved sided formats, 'chevron' and ribbed formats.
An important Russian service centre has chosen Fagor Arrasate, Spain, for the installation of a large cut-to-length line with a rotary shear. This type of machine, a Fagor exclusive design, allows for cutting different forms, from rectangles to trapeziums, curved sided formats, 'chevron' and ribbed formats, etc, with an investment 50% lower than that necessary for a press cutting line. The new line, similar to the one in the photograph, can process coils weighing up to 20,000kg with widths up to 1850mm and thicknesses up to 2.8mm.
The maximum cutting rate is 160 blanks/min and the maximum blank length, 3500mm.
However, as the stacker has two stations that can work together, packages of up to 7000mm long can be made.
The cut trapezium angles can be 30 deg.
The line includes a coil magazine, loading carriage, motor operated decoiler, tip preparation system, automatically interchangeable double cassette leveller, rotary shear and electromagnetic stacker, two station starting/stopping.
The installation does not require an accumulator loop and therefore no ditches need to be made in the foundations, further reducing the total investment.
The cost of the project is close to EUR 4 million.
Fagor Arrasate has increased its product range with the incorporation of Gamei (of which it has purchased 100% of the shares), as an equipment supplier for steel and non ferrous metal forging.
Gamei keeps its trade mark, workforce, sales channel and manufacturing programme strengthened by Fagor Arrasate's technical, commercial and design capacity and guarantees the service, quality and customer service from its new market position.
